Surrounded by equally affluent neighborhoods and cities such as Bel-Air, Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica, Brentwood is home to a population of approximately 35,000 mostly very well-educated residents including a vibrant mix of business and entertainment executives, celebrities, professionals in numerous fields, and students and graduate students from nearby UCLA and St. Mary’s College. Over two-thirds of the enclave’s residents have college degrees and more than half of that group has graduate or professional degrees. 

Brentwood’s residential development began in the 1880′s as part of a community called Westgate, which was annexed by the City of Los Angeles in 1916. Today, Brentwood is a sought-after mostly residential enclave of single-family homes, with upscale apartments and condominiums along its prosperous commercial districts running along three main thoroughfares – Sunset, San Vicente and Wilshire Boulevards.
